Research services
Research support is one of the core tasks of the Zentralbibliothek Zürich. It supports researchers in their projects in a variety of ways and is constantly expanding these services.
Digitized documents and data services
- The Digitization Center of the ZB provides high-quality reproductions of documents from our holdings.
- The ZB also offers support for the realization of larger digitization projects that are brought to it from externally.
- With its activities, the ZB-Lab supports researchers in the preparation, use and evaluation of their data.
- The ZB provides researchers with a wide range of data on its holdings for their projects.
Financial support and publication
- Various funds provide financial support for research projects and publications.
- The ZB has extensive expertise in the area of Open Access and maintains its own Open Access repository, the Zurich Open Platform.
Advice and mediation
- The staff of the Special Collections support researchers with questions relating to the ZB's special collections.
- The Liaison Services contact persons help with questions about research literature in their subject areas and act as a link for subject-specific research inquiries to the library (e.g. in connection with academic publishing).
- The ZB offers general and individual training courses for researchers who want to get to know the ZB and its holdings better.
- Various aspects of digital humanities are explored in depth at the summer schools held at irregular intervals.
